Clients I work with

I work with people of all ages on a wide range of issues but here are some of my areas of expertise:

Unexplained physical or medical symptoms

Some clients are referred to me because they have a medical condition that has not been resolved satisfactorily*. for example, a broken ankle that has not healed as quickly as expected, or chronic pain lingering from an injury. I also see clients who have psychosomatic symptoms - the body is reacting to an emotional upset or trauma.

If you are experiencing an unexplained or chronic symptom, you may notice that stress makes it worse. You may even have been told that you will 'just have to learn to live with it'. Even with a terminal illness it is possible to improve your quality of life by using hypnotic techniques to manage pain, sleep, stress, fear, and negative emotions.

*It is important that there is no undiagnosed physical or medical problem underlying your symptoms, so please consult your GP before you work with me!

I cannot offer any diagnosis or medical opinion. Feel free to share with your doctor that you are consulting a hypnotherapist for your medical or physical issue.

Children & teens with functional gastrointestinal (GI) disorders

Typical GI issues include difficulty eating or swallowing, hiccups, holding onto stool or urine, nausea, unexplained stomach pain, IBS, chronic diarrhoea or constipation. Unexpressed emotions may cause physical symptoms and I also work with children who do have a GI diagnosis, where there is an emotional component.

Teens: anxiety, depression or chronic illness

Sad Girl

Teenagers as a group have special needs that are different from adults. Covid-19 has disrupted the normal school or university experience, and with pressures from social media, teens may suffer more than usual from mental health problems. I teach coping skills, emotional management, practical skills, and strategies for today's tricky world.
